Isn't the subframe the big drivetrain and front suspension support cradle that bolts up to the unibody? For the motivated/experienced DIY'er, it's a doable weekend job after finding a decent replacement out of a scrapyard.

Blimps for freight is great for the reasons you mentioned. Hydrogen floatation is a bit hazardous, using helium isn't that great either because it's a diminishing non renewable resource.
I hate those helium filled kids' balloons….waste of helium.
Now, in my parts, you can't get helium, so they use acetylene…..not much safer than hydrogen, but the balloons float.
Very interesting when one of these acetylene filled toy balloons float off and contact a hot light bulb. Rains burning rubber or plastic film that sticks to you. Ouch.
