It should be noted that western anti-tank systems were developed with the specific purpose of knocking out Soviet tanks. The Soviet tanks weren't as bad back when they were designed, especially considering that they were cheap and easy to make and they had shitloads of them. The problem of course is that Russia doesn't have the capacity to mass-produce their new tank, the armata, so they are stuck with outdated, slightly upgraded soviet tanks.
