I remember when they first introduced their Forte, it was a Civic look alike.
I own a KIA. Haven't had any issues, but I will never get another one again. They are crooks. New car with <10k miles, they tried to sucker me into getting a back wheel alignment. They have some kid go out and attach something to the tires whenever you bring it in for an oil change, which supposedly was accurate enough for them to try to upcharge.

My Elantra was made in Korea and the tranny still blew at around 40,000 miles. Oh well.
My 95 Toyota Carib ABS still works great. It's got 350,000kms.
2009-2010 Kia Optima is the only Kia I seen worth anything. Best over all of all the kias made.
I can vouch that the Kia's made in Mexico are some of the worst built cars on sale. Glad I got rid of mine before the bubble burst.
