I has a 2009 Sorento made in South Korea…4WD but performed more like an AWD. The paint job was horrible and the inside trim was falling off the car about 9 months in ..I drove it for 8 years and will never have another Kia…

I have a 2013 soul. I agree with Scotty about making sure it's not made in mexico or US. I have been asked about buying a kia by people on the street and pretty much say the same thing Scotty says. make sure it's made in korea. I also change the oil every 3000 miles AND my car is the 2.0. maybe it'll fail, but I am doing all I can to have it for a long time. it has already earned it's keep.

To be fair, any kia prior to 2017 is pretty touch and go to begin with.

My 1998 Buick LeSabre has over 220,000 miles on it and has the original engine and tranny. and no rust. Well over half of those miles were spent here in Minnesota without a garage. The other millage was spent in California.

I’ll say I joined k5 and telluride groups and type in transmission. 👀 replacement, replacement, replacement under 30k miles some less than 10k.

Most Americans take no pride in their work. Work ethic is garbage doing just the minimum to get by. As a current warehouse worker, I see people more interested in socializing or looking at their cell phone instead of doing their job. Imagine these same people working on something as complex as assembling automobiles and the result is not surprising.

My first car was a 2012 Kia Optima. I drove it for 10 tears and put 182,000km on it, mostly highway driving. I sold it this summer and it's still going strong for the new owner. It was made in Korea. The interior looked almost identical after all those years. The exterior was starting to show some rust in the typical areas as Canadian winters are notoriously hard on vehicles from the salt used to keep the ice off the roads.
