I seen people put a smaller pulley on the alternator to give out more charge…. Is there any truth behind that?
Come to Oz and you'll need a dictionary to look up what "Lifetime Warranty" means. Not too many things in Oz come with a warranty.
Many things, like new cars, have a written warranty but that's all it is, a written warranty, not an actually warranty.

Most Ford/Motorcraft remanufactured alternators starters are remanufactured by the supplier NOT by a company Auto Zone or O'Reilly uses. Also the base number for a Ford alternator is "10346", starter is "11002" however, if you see a V in the base number ("10V346" or "11V002") that means it's the value line of Motorcraft. Those products are for older vehicles & budget conscious consumers.
The diodes he's referring to is called a rectifier.
Scotty, in colder states where salt is used on the roads for half the year, like Ohio, we have problems with chassis grounds corroding away. This was far more common in the '80s and '90s, but isn't unheard of today with trucks and SUV's. This will cause problems that look like the alternator dying, so if changing the alternator doesn't work, check the ground before swapping in another.
