Instead of using the dowel rod just cut the cable with dikes, tape the new cable to it , and then
Pull it through. It saves a step. Or whatever works best for you.
Thanks Scotty.
Ok, this has to be said. Scotty, I love the videos, and hitting that subscribe button happened faster on your channel than any other in all my years on YouTube. And I mean that. However, while I understand your motive, your videos have the most misleading titles lol. But there again, for whatever reason when it's your videos it just makes me laugh but any other misleading title on any other video, it irritates me to no end. I guess it's the fact that not only is your channel full of helpful info for us DIY guys, the entertainment factor combines with the info and creates viewer forgiveness for the misleading titles. I just can't be the only one to notice this lol.
One other thing, I'm 41 years old, and on my 37th car. Now before anyone calls me out saying that's BS, understand that when I was younger I had a great amount of fun buying very cheap cars that I didn't have to worry about and driving the crap out of them until they died, in which case I call the scrapper to come give me a hundred bucks or so for it and take it away. Then I'd put a little cash with that to buy another beater. So that's the reason for 37 cars. Now of course, there have been some nice cars here and there that I do care greatly for and properly maintain, like the cars my family ride in. But here's the reason for this….You seem to preach the gospel of Toyota like they're the best cars the world has ever seen, but of those 37 cars, only one was a Toyota and it literally lasted the least amount of time of ANY of the other 36. It was a 91 Camry with the V6 auto. Now I get it, automatic was the mistake, but my wife had to be able to drive it and she refused to drive a manual. But low and behold, it was that trans that failed, but it failed the very next day after I bought it. The very next day. I paid $2,000 for the car and sold it one day later for $250 because that trans was entirely too expensive to rebuild. I still have a sour taste to this day about Toyota and probably won't ever buy another.
Awesome Scotty, thanks! You rock!
Rev Up Your…"Grunt…umph…unh!"
Not even close to the worst thing that can happen to your car. Worst thing is it gets totaled while you are inside of it.

Dang Scotty, u a genius ?
I thought the worst thing that could happen was female drivers…
hoods open . massive screwdriver size hole in the radiator now 🙁
I bashed into a deer and it shortened the cable. I used a lead fishing sinker to make it up. Is that good Scotty?
