The early '60s Pontiac LeMans with a front engine, rear wheel drive transaxle was a nice compromise in weight distribution for both handling and traction. JMHO.
My Subaru Bumble B9 Tribeca handles very well. Mostly because it is underpowered and I'm easy on the transmission. I get out of the way of the little old lady from Pasadena.
