Looks like one of those electronic compressors for a 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid is about $350 for a reman. on ebay. That's not terrible. If you do the work yourself, that's where you save because most of that "small fortune" is in labor costs. Also, the system might need the r134 bled out and recharged. That happened on my 97 Maxima.
I’m not sure how good of a mechanic you are if you can’t rebuild a differential. Clean everything, replace bearings, set pinion depth, set backlash, fill with oil. It’s quite simple for a wrench with a functional brain.
