Scotty, I'm afraid I have to disagree with you about Mazda. You said one of the problems with them is too much technology in them that fails, but you cherry-picked the Wankel Rotary as an example. The rotary has been the only "big" controversy of Mazda's products (aside from rusting issues, but that's not a technology thing), and the new SkyActiv X engine isn't a rotary in any shape or form. The Mazda 3 in particular (which uses a SkyActiv in models 2012 and newer) is still being actively bought and sold even when the mileage exceeds 230,000 miles. I don't understand why you consider cars that run for over 200,000 miles to be a failure.
Also as someone else pointed out, you listed the Miata (also a SkyActiv engine) as being one of the most reliable cars.
