The base golf is being removed. The GTI and R are still being sold in the US.
Those GM 3800 engines are a pain to work on…like having to mess with motor mounts and jack the engine up to replace the serpentine belt (with barely any space to fit your hands as the engine faces the passenger sidewall).
Speaking of VW, VW owners in my relatively small town are going ballistic because none of the oil change places here will change their oil. Don't know exactly why, but I'm sure there's a logical reason.
Those Grand Am's turned crap on everyone fast.

Is not the car having issues the problem is the owners not keeping with the maintenance, putting good oil, good quality gasoline
