Haha ha i remember when they were offer me GAP insurance and i said no. Sales guy were not happy and ask me why why why not.
Eventually when i have a used car lot, I'll put on a full 3 month warranty for free, just in case it turns out to be a lemon even after our thorough fix and flip. Then 50% repairs for the first year. Then 10% off repairs and free checkups and small replacements like fluid and filters forever. But, only if you come to replace the engine oil every 3k miles or 1 year. Not doing that, or other severe evidence of abusing the car will void our kindness. Take care of the car so it takes care of you. I hate unnecessary waste. After every 10 years of being a good customer or buying 10 cars, we'll give 1 of our cheaper ones to you or someone you know for free. I love kindness and perks. I also have some other perk ideas too like an extra 500 dollars to paint your new used car any color you want including throwing on a free stripe or two. I want to be the best used car dealer ever! And have a cool shop inside with all kinds of car merch, like hotwheels, model kits, clothes, accessories, custom part sourcing, media, etc. And host car meets with prizes, and have a private test track with posted lap records, and a demo derby arena and pick a part scrap yard for the unsavables, and stuff and such etc!
Years ago, I was a delivery driver for a large Food Service company that served a small chain of drive-in theaters. Every Christmas, they would give each of their vendors "FREE" movie passes that were expired (yes, really!). It became such a joke that every vendor would ask each other, "Hey, …did you get your FREE movie passes that are good anytime but nights and weekends?!?".
Those car warranties always remind me of the FREE movie passes; absolutely worthless.
I totally disagree. But you do need to be careful who you go with. Extended warranties have fixed my tranny, ac and other issues over the years with different cars. With only deductible paid will say this lol that rental car hard as latin to get😄🤣 but if it do fall in range of repair they will get it for you. 1100 bil back 98 paid 100 deduct got a rental. Heck my mom had one that would replace 2 tire the life of the warranty. I actually sold that one too her aftermarket from the dealership 100 mi away that i worked at.

100% true! paid for an extended warranty on my used car and wouldn't you know it they didnt cover anything… $2000 out of my own pocket to repair. Awesome. 😮💨
They are written by lawyers who don't even drive second hand cars. My cousin brother is a corporate lawyer and only drive new cars. He normally drive three years maximum and dispose the car. The dealers probably screw him when he needed a new car but I doubt if he cares for someone who makes a fortune from people trying to win things in life

That is one lesson I learned in life.

Ask the Dealership who pays every time. Usually 3 or more plus there. Ie Ford just extends theirs to at least 100,000 miles. Not bumper to bumper but All expensive items.
