Cool bike, the BSA 650. Nowadays the Ducati 800 Scrambler would be the ticket.

Don't buy motorcycles because Toyota doesn't make one.

hey scotty im thinking about buying a used diesel sedan!
option A: Honda accord 2006 with around 120.000 miles
    option B: Lexus is220d 2007 with around 100.000 miles
which car will last longer and is the better choice?

When you are on a motorcycle, drive as though you are invisible to everyone else. Make yourself totally responsible for your driving experience. NEVER put your life in the care of some other driver.

so is ducati's money pit machines?

    Yep scotty is right.
My bro's done nearly a million miles over 40 years of riding bikes and all jap bikes are mainly reliable.
Its just the honda gearboxes have a problem with the oil jets that are not aligned up all the way through the gears causing oil starvation on the gears, not squirting onto the gears properly on the late 90's to mid 2000 honda bikes.
But once you align them up your good to go again.
He has a honda hornet 600 2003 and has done 120,000 miles with no other problems and uses hardly any oil with no blue smoke etc.

Here in the UK kids as young as 16 could buy a big CC bike before the early 80's and loads were getting killed on them so quite rightly the new law came into force and stopped all that.
Yep get a 50cc and work your way up.
Don't run before you can walk so the saying goes.
