Been driving my 2019 honda civic for 3 years. Very happy with it!
The older RWD Toyota shifters put everything to shame. No linkage. Best shifter ever. I used to drain the trans, unscrew the fill, take out the shifter and just pour with a pan underneath.
Honda engines are great, but for commuting, I like Toyota better as I got older. I’m going to miss the Avalon & the crown looks ugly.

Yeah I've got a 2020 Civic and you'd be surprised what kind of crap I get in the back with the seats folded down. I once got a full couch in the back of the thing, now of course I couldn't close the hatch but it was amazing. Another thing that the Civic does really well better than any car in its class is it s occupant space. I mean you sit in a Camry it feels tight, you sit in a Hyundai it feels tight but for whatever reason Honda sets the Civic up interior wise to have great front seat room and great rear seat room
