I took my Flood Totaled Aston Martin DBS to the dealer in the Tampa Bay Area to try and program its new Body Control Module after replacing it. Instead they offered a quote for $40,000 for a wiring harness and a couple keys. What a total rip-off! So we take a trip to the Junkyard to try and find a very similar set of wires for a fraction of their price…

Typical stealership quote. Right to repair must be pushed forward. Why didn't you take the key and harness out of the Volvo they are programed together.Just buy everything related, then you should be able to start the car.
If the dash, key Cem all are the same then it should skip the theft system .
Or put a aftermarket ecm in, like fuel Teck, holly and reprogram it as a stand alone,.Every car needs the same in puts and out puts crank cam injector and so on. A start signal is a start signal no matter what car it is
We both know if they could get info from the cem the harness is good do a pin out ohms test on every wire before you cut into the original, that shop was hunting for money not problems.
Great project. Need to read eeprom disassemble it to what's going on . Compare with volvo. Would be quite exiting research.
Launch x431 will program modules. Mine does.
Really great vid, will definitely ask around.
Main dealers (stealers) take the piss, Reading Porsche charge North of £280 per hour (probably more now) madness for spotty teenagers working on your pride and joy!
Take it to Aston martin already / you’ve been trying for months to fix it yourself ???? Dumb ass that’s why it was sooooo cheap 🤣😂🤣
Sam loving this repair don't leave us hanging long please
15:12 what the cows!
The electronics in these cars will be why there is no collector car market in the future.
