Here in Québec we can't get enough EV's. We pay 6.5 cents KW/h. We have $12k subsidies to buy ev's. It's another world here.
I don't know much about gas power stations, but the one thing I do know is that you can't just flick a switch to turn them on or off, it takes day's to start the plant up and get it supplying the grid, and it uses more gas in those days starting up than it does in a normal week's running and producing heavy base load power! So the politicians are bare faced lieing when they say it's for emergencies only 😂😂
Texas is going to get rigged big time and become a permanent blue state
Best part is Texas gives big money to large businesses to shut down during an electricity shortage. But until recently, they did not restrict gas suppliers and distributors from taking advantage of that program to make big bucks by cutting off gas supplies to the gas-fired electricity power plants right in the middle of an emergency. Shot themselves in the foot big time during the 2021 freeze.
