TCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology prepares you to begin a career as a technician in the automotive repair field or to updated your training if you’re already working in the field. By completing this degree, you give yourself an advantage in the job market over those without formal training.

All automotive classes are held in the Regional Automotive Center, a 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Chesapeake, offering students affordable and convenient training at the forefront of industry trends and standards.

TCC’s automotive degree curriculum is based on the Master Automotive Service Technology standards set forth by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

Certify your skills
You will be ready to take national ASE certification exams in the nine areas offered, in addition to the A/C Refrigerant Recovery License and Virginia State Inspection License.

Your studies will include these 9 ASE areas:

engine repair
automotive transmissions/transaxles
manual drive train and axles
suspension and steering
brakes
electrical/electronic systems
heating and air conditioning
engine performance
auto maintenance and light repair
