They actually help with noise from composite intake manifolds. I took them off my c7 and you could really hear a difference
DO NOT REMOVE THE BEAUTY COVER on the new Toyota crown, the 2024 Toyota grand highlander or any other Toyotas with the new 2.4 T24A-FTS. These are more than just beauty covers. They actaully funnel air coming in the front of the car and direct down onto the turbo for cooling.

I spray painted mine with some high temp plastic paint. Engine isn't pretty, but the red and silver painted cover goes well with my honda
