Rav 4 Hybrid has an eCVT. Much different than a CVT which has belt and pulley.
eCVT has planetary gears and built like a tank.
What has Scotty been smoking? CVTs are much much more reliable than a regular automatic. Exactly because they don’t have gears it means there’s less prone to wear and tear which means it lasts longer. This is easily proven by the fact that Prius, as he himself mention, are mostly used by TVDE/Taxis, the people that actually need reliable and cheap to fix cars as they drive them all around, all the time, both in highway and cities.
And the hybrid system seems to be the new favourite where I live. The Auris hybrid with the 1.8 engine and a CVT. transmission. Eyeballing it, about 50%+ of the taxis here are this model.
for the same price just get a rogue epower without every worry for a gearbox because it has none.

There are so many important features in a car beyond the transmission. It is silly to place so much emphasis on the type of transmission, ignoring the other considerations. Extremely few people want to drive a toyota into the ground with 300,000 miles. And, one small accident on a high mileage vehicle and is totaled.
Scotty if these transmission's are so bad why Toyota gives 10 years warranty on every model in Europe ,, hahahaha, they are not American cars with 2 years warranty 😅😅
