Great content
We had a 2007 Camry Hybrid with over 200,000 CVT never had a problem and we never changed the tranny fluid.
Bought a used 2007 Ford Freestyle in 2008. Good gas mileage 27Hwy and 17 round town. Took care of it but it always lacked power due to the CVT lag. It barely made up some NC mountain roads but it was 2WD-FWD. Finally at 125,000 the CVT just gave it up. It stopped gearing up and just rev'd at low speeds. Tried draining the fluid and changing the filter. I got 7 quarts out and Ford's CVT oil is $15 a quart. It didn't work. It had a level dipstick, but you had to remove the air cleaner to get to it and the fill hole. Now I own a Highlander with the 6-speed. Looking to buy a new Highlander Hybrid that has the 8-speed tranny. Just gave the Freestyle up and donated it. A new tranny would have cost more than what it was worth. Also had that AC problem with the scroll valve.
He is a matrix fan
I think only mechanic people take cate of shifting sound in the automatic transmission. Most people just drive the car to do the job done.
Doesn’t the F-150 Hybrid Powerboost have a 10 speed transmission? Asking for clarification because I thought he said any multi power input engineered vehicle has a CVT
I had a relative put 500k on a honda accord sedan 1987 manual from new. Ran great. Just two clutches, 3 batteries, 3 changes of plugs & coil packs, oil and 4 tires 4x…. it still drove like it had 30k on it. The tech that opened it for a chain at 240k said it looked new still, in 2002.
ahh yes the good ol 4 banger
I have a 2019 rav4 all wheel drive. Whith a 8 automatic gears. No problems but looks like my next car will be a toyota hybrid with a cvt transmission..
Hey Scotty , I had a 1978 corolla with the 3k motor, the odometer had clocked itself 3 times and the only thing I did to it was change the oil and oil filter , Toyota dealer in Cardiff nsw Australia offered to buy the car as they were amazed it had the original 3k motor and was still going like it just left the dealership , sold it to them although the body had rust everywhere, haven't ever owned anything else that has come close to the kilometres the 78 corolla did
