By far the most interesting video on the subject.
I work as a mechanic in a dealership in NYC and employers are promoting, pushing and forcing their technicians to cheat, steal and lie. This field became a horror movie. Being a mechanic is not what it used to be 20 years ago. Most of a times you cannot work on a newer cars, because you are not certified to touch them. Also, you cannot do any recalls since again you have to be certified so you are losing money here and there and since I live in NYC most cars are leases, so there is not much cash jobs left. If you starting mechanical field from scratch and want to work in a dealership, your pay will be miserable and you won't be able to even gain experience on how to fix cars, because again you need to be certified. In conclusion DO NOT became a mechanic, go for engineering cars, designing cars R&D on cars, but not a mechanic.

So I’m 16 as of now and I do want to make money and I don’t know much about cars but I feel like I really want to and I want to enter events and race and do my own projects on my car. Would automechanic’s be what I would go for if that stuff peeks my intrest ( and I love sports cars mustangs and old cars)
