Might be a dumb queation, but if you change your trans fluid and you change it into clean containers, if it starts slipping with new fluid can you just empty the new fluid and put the old stuff back in and be good… if that would be okay and work i might need to make a note for when if i ever have to change mine.

The first new Toyota pick up (1987, 4 spd manual trans, 22R eng)I bought cost me 7995.00.

This has quality information like usual.

I changed it on a 93 buick at 130k ish. It helped with the rough stopping a lot, and doesnt slip. about a year later and at 149k still rolling along

I have an '01 Nissan Frontier. When I got it earlier this year, it had 173K miles. It had one owner and that owner told me that he never had the transmission or differential fluid changed on it. So I changed both of those fluids myself when it was at 181,000 miles. The transmission immediately started riding smoother, the drive shaft was quieter and I got way better RPMs.

My transmission was slipping pretty bad first to second and replaced the oil and added some Lucas and now its perfectly fine and smooth

I have to disagree with Scotty on this one. You can never do harm with a PROPER transmission service.

Do you recomend changing trans fluid on a modern car with 70,000?

  10. on my own wave
