I sandblasted copper casting wheels and I never screwed up one, but everyone else screwed up their share. I didn’t teach anyone my system due to job security, but it’s okay to say it now. I blasted at 22.5 degrees when everyone else did it all different angles. Maybe I shouldn’t be saying anything. I doubt anyone who works in a copper mill will be watching this.

Thanks Pete. I learned something new today. Did not know that acid dipping would thin the metal, also never considered the loss of factory coating in unreachable areas.

If you have it in your area, I recommend doing acid dipping. No sand everywhere, no warping, totally cleans everywhere, scene and unseen areas. But make sure like Pete says, they dippers are professional! I used https://www.redistripco.com and yea they do sand blasting too.
