I don't care what you're favorite"s which is Ford and Toyotas. Lol you dog GM. My 2004 Silverado has 376,000 miles. Only parts was a water pump and a AC Actuator. Mom has a 2002 avalanche 399k. Got a 95 Chevy Astro as back up. 245k. Chevy trucks are great. Cars suck I will admit that. You are right on them Chrysler's. Also mid 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Yuck

As a mechanic for 26 years my OPINION is all as of lately for the most cars are fairly good and the issue is BAD OWNERS.. FACT !!
Give two Toyotas, hondas, lexus, KIA, Chevy, dodge or whatever to 2 different people (one person who is meticulous and good with regular service and preventive maintenance and the other which is 50% of my clients They simple gas up and drive and chamge oil when its convenient typically 1 – 2 k over 2.5 – 3 qts come out amd 5 qts go in ?no routine service UNTIL they hear noises or see warning lights then they call me)
With them 2 types of owners evaluate the cars every 5 years or in 10 years I GUARANTEE and bet every tool and my Matco boxes they will both be in exact entire opposite shape regardless of what emblem is on the Damn hood..
one owner swearing how great it is and the other going Ugh what a piece of crap…
I have a few cars Kia, Tacoma and the best is my 2010 SRT Challanger a few Mods lil over 145k miles and aside from normal maintenance brakes, tunes up belts, battery, regular fluid service shes still solid as a rock and leak free, !!
To the point where i get told and asked constantly nice, car wow super clean… "Wanna sell it" ??
At the end of the day ANY mechanic with 1/2 a brain whos been around knows this….Some people just love their choice and thats what makes car people unique….
