In this video we have a look at a Chevrolet Silverado that has had the Ziebart undercoating sprayed on it every year since it was new. In our experience here in the salt belt this type of rubberized undercoating WILL DESTROY your vehicle. Unfortunately this vehicle will not make it past ten years old before the frame is completely rotted in half, despite the customer doing what he thought was right. Be sure to do your research folks before applying any type of “coating” under your vehicle.

The only thing I find under coating is good for is a bed liner, that's about it

  2. Crazywaffle5150

Even the rear end is covered lmao. Can you even get to bolts? ?

AvE sent me here. I under coat lawn mower decks with actual bed liner, I've never had that problem. I also wash them every time I use them too.

Powder coating is popular in the UK I feel the same way about it. One tiny scratch will allow water to creep behind the plastic and the metal will rust out under it. If you want a car to last hot dip galvanising is the only solution. If I can't galvanise I Wax Oil it. I have three Landies with galvanised chassis one I am working through replacing everything steel with a galvanised version, even got the axles done. I hate rust and powder coat !

they should quit building trucks like shit and quit using salt. colorado uses sand because they know better. dont need to melt the ice. just need to have traction. they can galvanize frames but they dont. they make steel used in bridges that when it forms rust the oxide coating is a corrosion resistant. but they dont do anything but make money selling you new cars. greed is a horrible thing

Hot oil is still my choice here in Northwest Ohio but it's getting harder to find shops that still do it, and it's also an annual process. During restorations, after any frame damage is repaired, they all get painted inside and out with Eastwood Co. products, then sometimes they also get the spray bed liner treatment. Of course, this is before any wiring, plumbing etc. goes back on.

Never realized these crooks where still in business.

5:29 Jesus look at how flimsy that mounting point for the upper control arm is, it's just flexing like a soda can when he removes the upper control arm.

What a fucking mess. Always go with Fluid Film or a similar product. If you at all have the choice, only drive one vehicle during the winter.

Just 'cause they say it's good – they're thinking about their pocketbook!
    GREAT ADVICE – Good Video!
