Besides the poor wire feed are there any other symptoms of a bad liner? My Millermatic 175 is over 20 years old and I am having not only feed problems but also porosity issues in the weld and was thinking that maybe the liner is the culprit.

God has never heard as many swear words 1 person can put out in 1 minute when a coil unspools , till that happened to me

Changing the liner is something I do frequently. The liner size should be matched to the wire diameter. I use 0.6mm wire for sheet metal and 1.0mm wire for thick material. With 0.6mm and 0.8mm wire you can use the same liner, but not with 0.6mm and 1.0mm. The 1.0mm give better looking welds on high amps, therefore I prefer that to 0.8mm wire.

If you let go of the wire it's going to birds nest on you as punishment for giving your welder the reach around at 2:18

Glad to see this video my MIG welder is doing exactly what you said the wire is jumpy coming out of the gun so I've got a new liner I will be changing mine today.

Thanks for making the video, I haven't had to replace my liner yet but will now have the confidence to do so when the time comes.
