When rebuilding a car or motorcycle, or wiring a race car, it is often easier to rip out the old wiring and redo all of it. Today I will show you how to plan it out and do it with the correct connectors, wires, and tools. It’s easier than it sounds and cheaper than you might think.

“Error on the side of too much fuse”
Wrong, unless you want to let the smoke out. Just remember once the smoke is out, it cannot be put back in.
I'm going to watch and judge. Over halfway through now, very well done.
Also started redoing some wiring on a 91 diesel suburban. So far I've got some nice 1/0 cables(Bigger than stock, which I think was either 2awg or 4awg) to the new Powermaster starter (way better than stock). Still need to do some other circuit portions to help the voltage drop to the cabin that I get.
To be clear, I'm not necessarily intending to rewire the entire vehicle. Just improve some electrical issues. The above two changes mean the starter moves QUICK, good for starting a cold diesel engine. I also replaced the ground between the engine and the firewall, which significantly improved the voltage drops I was seeing into the cabin. It did not eliminate those drops though, so some work will be needed on the positive supply to circuits into the cabin.
I was aware of the heat shrink labelers from my previous employment as well, but someone seemed to think they were insanely expensive. I think not, given the links you have. Definitely grabbing some for this and other projects.
11:50 "I'm not your dad."
They why do you pay my mom child support every month?
See you this weekend. Keep your crack lighter handy. I'll bring the good stuff just like you asked.
SuperfastMatt: also for any vehicle from the 90s
Me with my e34: This isn't the vid. my car is wired in a more complex way than a new tesla.
(I seriously don't know why and how )
I need to rebuild a wiring harness using the old connections just replacing the wires. Where can I purchase the metal tips to plug into the plastic housing for the connection to the car?
awesome.
5:45 funny thing about this. in 1999 they decided just not to bother with a relay for the fuel pump on the dodge ram. it has been known to cook people's entire ECU
Of course I rewire the entire cab of my truck to factory colors about 4yrs ago and just now see this vid… I did however use mostly GPT. Also fully insulated and engine bay is next for full rewire. Ps. Added a 2nd bat under the hood and a standalone "fuze block" or fuze panel. An inverter and 2 can 12 fuze panels for anything and everything I've been adding.
What year was that FSAE car?
I have a 65 corvair with a 350 up front and 350 trans would like to keed guages .
