In this video will be covering the easiest way to repair rusted metal. what I was working on is a 2010 chevy Silverado and the rust was building up on the bed side. Causes of rust could be build up on mud or dirt on metal area where it stays moist, or the debris thats left on your cars body after snow melts off. It’s important to wash you vehicle well and get to “the hard to get to spots.” Rust can also happen from rock chips not touched up with paint.

This method is fine for people wanting to freshen up a truck for 2-4 years. Or you're trying to get maximum dollars for a sale. If you want a permanent fix (life of the vehicle), you will need new metal. Don't argue that there's a proper way to Bondo over rust holes. There just isn't and it will come back. The chain reaction in rusted metal is more complex than just removing visible rust. It's compromised at a deeper level.

Thank you for the video. But the music is very annoying.

Replace with new bed side and with new wheel housing… the rust is on the backside…waste of time repairing this way.

Great video and thanks for the information! I just have a couple of 2 or 3 questions. Can this be fixed without painting the whole quarter panel, and how much should I expect to pay to have someone else do the work from start to finish?

I have this issue over both rear fender wells that just started bubbling a couple months ago, and oddly enough, it’s a 2010 Silverado lol. I was hoping to go ahead and get it fixed before it gets worse and have no idea what this kind of work should cost. I, also, have thought about adding painted, pocket style fender flares in the near future.

If I decide to add this edition, should I just repair the rusted area, spray on some rust-oleum, and save the paint for the the fender flairs? Or, should I repair and paint before adding flairs? Any info would be very much appreciated…
    Thanks!🙏🏼

Hello guys. This repair isn’t best way to do it, it’s a temporary repair meaning won’t last. Best way to deal with rust is to cut and replace rusted metal. Thanks for watching!
