there is one excellent mechanic in my town. he's booked out 6 to 8 weeks. people with only one rig are out of luck.

Also, do not buy a vehicle with the 3.6 L V6 engine from General Motors (GM), because they are always well known to have problems with the timing chain guides and some problems with the six-speed automatic transmission, expect the 2007 to 2009 Saturn Aura XR and the 2012 to 2016 Buick LaCrosse CXL, which are both sedans. Anyway, what is your opinion on a 2019 Hyundai Sonata sedan with the 2.4 L four-cylinder engine and the six-speed automatic transmission, Mr. Kilmer? The 2019 was the final model year of the previous-generation, before the current-generation was introduced in 2020. I was considering myself to plan to buy a Hyundai Sonata as a first or second vehicle, for a really long time, because they are reliable and fuel-efficient and they are much cheaper and they have better handling than a Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord. Thank you very much and have a great night.

Do hybrid engines that go electric at slow speeds have the same engine wear out concern? (F-150 with no auto-start stop.)

IDK if I buy the start stop wear thing as being a real issue. If the engine is cold maybe. Toyota Prius starts and stops more than any other car on the road but plug in hybrids. It also is the longest lasting by miles car you can own. A recent survey. Only a few trucks and large vehicles have higher average mileage. Work vehicles with high highway miles. I can tell you I have a 2010 Prius and it burns about .5 qt every 3k at 275k miles. This is the known worst year to have a Prius. I figure thats plenty acceptable. Its does get the Italian tune up daily for the last200k . Average mpg is about 43mpg. Has about 30k at least towing a 500-1500 lb trailer as well. gets about 36 towing around town. Its a beast. Im sure a Rav4 hybrid would be nice too.

Engineers who have 'book learning' but haven't touched a tool in their life aren't worth a tinker's dam. If you are an engineer that needs to look up what a tinker's dam is, you are who I'm talking about. [Wink.] LOL! LOL! JMO.

But even the Japan vehicles are made who knows where today. You have to find one that says on the tag M.I.J., I bought a 09 toy versus w 140 k on M.I.J., runs great recently the tailpipe rusted , getting it fixed tomorrow
