This works great for non-metallic paint. What about using the same technique with metallic paint? I have tried it, and it seems impossible to match metallic paint, even with the paint code on the car. Your thoughts please.

Damn that worked like a miracle thanks

You say to use thinners…is there a danger of softening the original paint or worse still rubbing a layer off.

I would have guessed you would have wet sanded with 2000 grit prior to the wax……..?

Did you use a one stage spray paint by chance or do you not need a clear coat in this case?

When did you use the lacquer thinner?  Presumably,  before you applied the touch-up spray paint?

I'll have to try this, I've used brushes and they look worse than the chip. When I've had some small jobs done by body shops they all recommend not waxing the fresh paint for 4 months, so what's up with using the Mother's to take off the impurities?

Thanks …I have places that someone already applied brush paint …and I am wondering what to do with them ….it looks crappy…and I want to go back over those spots…and use spray …Not sure how to ….
