Why cant you use a GLASS CLEANER?
When painting with the door handles on, I always lock the car so the doors won't open, pull the handles out and put some packing behind to keep them out, gives me more room to paint behind them…..

Just like to say thanks Pete. I just finished painting my 40 year old car after doing all the body work myself.
