This in turn has also fueled an overpriced used vehicle market but what's really heinous is dealers charging 3-5k over MSRP or the sticker price. It's one big racket. Americans have a love affair with having a new car which are terrible investments. I have a 22 year old truck. Runs excellent because I've properly maintained it and I paid $5100 for it used with no breakdowns or expensive fixes and full coverage insurance on it is $65 a month. Great to not have a crazy car/insurance payment!
