How eco-friendly of GM. A battery that will last 1 million miles can be passed down for about 10 generations of their vehicles that crap out at 100,000 miles.
The batteries last 85k-100k miles. So it costs you 35 to 60 cents per mile.
Just remember Scotty, EV batteries, electric motors, the engineering within them, as well as Photovoltaic Cells being integrated into the bodies, will improve efficiency in an exponential curve brother. I know you're Old Skool Ice Mechanic, but remember, both you/I, are from a anachronistic mindset/generation. One which may not believe/nor have imagination to bridge the light fantastic than those moving into the EV engineering realm, creating cleaner, greener, renewable transport solutions today.
Fantastic…except for…
They suck in the winter.
They suck in the summer.
They suck for long trips.
…and they'll really suck off of the electric grid.
Just imagine places like California or the East Coast adding tens of thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of electric cars to the grid. I'm sure that'll be totally fine.
