Scotty they should make it 48V.
The wires can be thinner, contacts can be thinner. Its the opposite of what you think. That said Water would be far more dangerous to the electronics at 48V. The IPDM would have to have its functionality expanded and all the switch's migrated to 3.3v or 5v.
A 10AWG wire can do 30 amps. 30amps is 360 watts on 12V or 1440 watts on 48V.
You would need 4AWG to carry the same amount of power on 12V as a 10AWG can do at 48V.

A 48V car electrical system would be more effecient and you could lower the gauge of wire throughout the vehicle which would save money… but building 48V batteries requires 4 times as many cells than a 12V battery and my guess is it isn't cost effecient for whatever reason.
Postal vans, they have to shut it off at every house or stop . My mail person told me the starters only last a few months at the most. When they get rid of them they are worn out. Nice video thank you.
