Scotty, I have a 2001 FOrd ZX2 with 294500 miles….runs like a sewing machine and 32 MPG. I bought it 2015 with approx 126000. Planning to get 400000 mile out of this car….

Ppl often forget about transmission and brakes. Those need to be warmed up too. So don't just let the engine idle until it reaches operating temp and then drive off like a maniac, let your trans warm up too. Drive slowly at first.

The Camaro User's Manual STRONGLY recommends that you let the engine warm up before driving it. Apparently it used a special blend of gas and air to warm up the engine when started and that can mess it up if you start driving before the RPM goes down

Your title is very deceptive and I think you're doing intentionally.

IT IS NEVER BAD TO WARM YOUR CAR UP.
