    Having changed a battery in a prius, you need 600v rated gloves, a scan tool that speaks Toyota and nothing more than a 600v rated meter. Toyota has things that keep you safe when you're doing the work, but you really should get a short term subscription to the Toyota maintenance manuals and download the instructions on how to work on the hybrid system. If you don't know what you're doing, the battery can kill you.

    This is true. I had a 2013 hyundai sonata and the hybrid battery went bad…..I wasn't touching that thing with a 10 foot poll. That shut has so many orange wires one mistake and that's it
