You giving out to much game scottie
Last year I purchased Nokian All Weather Tires for my RAV4 because I have observed my brother and parents' success with them in not needing to change between all-seasons and winter tires. My local tire suppliers has a program in place where tire rotations are free since I purchased the product from them but most times I work with the dealership to change oil and rotate the tires. I reside in Western Canada for additional background.
Recently the dealer advised that my tires were cupping and that all four needed replacement quoting $950. I took my vehicle back to the tire supplier to obtain their input and they discovered that my front wheels are perfectly aligned but the rear wheels were out of alignment. The solution to correct is to replace both toe arms, total price for supplies, work and all wheel alignment service is ~$1,000. I have the appointment scheduled in two weeks to attack the problem.
I'm not going to pile on the dealership here, instead, after watching today's video the reinforcement is that critical thinking should be exercised and to not freak out when problems arise. I could have replaced the tire but I am relieved to take the one step back to question "why did the tires become cupped in the first place?". It also gave me relief that I did not abuse the tires in any shape!
