Haha.. come on 🙂 A tear drop doesnt have a cd of 0,27…. The tear drop is the most efficient form there is regarding air resistance and such a drop has a cd of around 0,05. Not 0,27 🙂 That must have been that car..

Airplanes take off into the wind because airspeed is everything to an airplane. The greater the headwind, the less the airplane has to accelerate over the ground before it can take-off. The plane isn't making "more" lift on a windy day as opposed to a calm day, it simply reaches it's take-off "airspeed" faster and can get off the ground in a shorter distance because it doesn't have to accelerate as long to reach it's required flight speed. It's the same when landing. They always land into the wind because their "speed over the ground (groundspeed)" will be slower which makes things a lot easier on things like landing gear, tires, and brakes.
