    It's not the robot it's the process and conditions it being painted in. Many, many cars today have an orange peel texture to the paint and that was painted by robots. You get orange peel when the flow rate is wrong….

    I had work done by Maaco. Hood on my ford van was all alligator-ing. My young son and I stripped it and primed it. Maaco prepped and painted the hood, recreated the 3 color strip across the front. “Regular” shops declined to even attempt the stripes. Hood color and stripes blended in perfectly. I paid a good price for good work. For the same money you could select one of the specials and get a whole car painted.
