If I hear a car was in a flood, I won't work on it nor get inside. These things are a HEALTH HAZARD with all the mold and bacteria inside. Once that water gets in the car will NEVER be the same.
Here in NZ a flood damaged car is compulsory write off. Can't be re-registered. Aussie imports are flagged at border for flood damage. Can't be registered at all. Corrosion to the hidden steel is a even bigger problem than wiring.

Please tell us all the things to look for in a used car in order to tell if it was flooded.
And know what? The owners of those cars want to unload them, on you! I should think that flooding must be reported, and any flooded car should be returnable, for a full refund, even years later if it turns out it was flooded. Insurance MUST total cars that have been flooded.
