The number 1 rule still applies regardless – Do NOT buy any European vehicle unless you enjoy excessive maintenance costs and increasingly expensive repairs. Rich people lease them for 3 years and when the lease is up they get a new one – they never have to get them repaired because they usually do so little mileage that even the Germans can match those low mileage reliability needs. I gave up on German vehicles in 1988 and have never looked back. The Japanese are simply much better manufacturers.
