What’s the bad news? 🤔🤔🤔
As an experienced VW tech that engine is the most common for oil leaks no matter the mileage
My 2003 Astro van is leaking oil fairly bad from the rear seal and makes a mess on the driveway. I did like the racers and put on a diaper. Basically a baking pan that fits just over the oil pan where it drips. Hold it on with tie wraps and replace them at every oil change. There are a few tablespoons of oil at every oil change in the pan. Sure beats removing the motor and/or trans. If you check out the race shops you can check out what they use too.
Scotty.
Earlier this year I purchased a 2022 RAV4. I took it to the dealer today for its 5,000 mile first service. All they performed was rotated tires, checked brakes and fluids. I didn’t realize that Toyota service intervals for oil and filter change is @ 10,000 miles. I know it has synthetic oil, but I don’t feel comfortable going to 10,000, especially for it’s first oil change. What are your thoughts about this.
My gut says go take it to my local shop and have the oil change now, or am I being overprotective?
Thanks for all you do,

If it were me I'd get rid of it and get a Toyota 😃
