Mechanic Parts Cannon is a term referring to mechanics who keep replacing parts without logical diagnosis hoping something will eventually fix the problem.

And that’s exactly what we have with this 2010 Toyota Camry with the 2AR-FE Engine. This car has just been to another shop and they replaced some parts and could not fix the problem. A week later they arrived at another completely different diagnosis and want to charge the customer more.

But what about the initial repairs that didn’t’ really fix anything? this is the biggest grey area with the automotive repair world!

In this video we’ll walk you through the diagnosis process that should’ve happened from the beginning to this customer wouldn’t waste money trying to fix their car which is not right.

I am not a professional car repair but only an enthusiast. This was a more complex problem to solve and did require a professional. For someone that works on lots of different cars both mechanical and electrical it is understandable for them to miss this issue and just throw some parts at it. There are definitely worse rip offs and although this wasn't a good repair job by any means it wasn't a rip off on purpose. I have seen worse.

I wish I could find a good mechanic like you in Western Australia they are very few and far between.

Unfortunately there is little to no accountability at repair shops. They cost the customer $700 for a misdiagnosis and inferior part. Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if the shop had to eat that $700 in parts and labor and put it towards the engine computer. That would be the ethical thing to do. I understand this doesn’t work in every scenario but clearly the customer is paying for their incompetence. This is why I try and do most of my own work.

A carpenter had a car accident & he was taken to the ER unconscious & they found that he had too much pressure in his brain. They called a neurosurgeon who drilled 3 burr holes in his skull and released the pressure. He got better and went home. Then he got a bill from the neurosurgeon for $ 1000. He called the neurosurgeon and said drill holes all day and no one pays me $ 1000 for 3 holes. The surgeon said you have a point. Tear up that bill and I'll send a new one. A week later he got a bill that said, for drilling 3 holes – $ 15, for knowing when to stop – $ 985.💪👌🙏👽
