Ugh, sorry to see that this happened. We've all been there. My biggest slip-up was when I was doing a valve adjustment on a 2001 Integra Type R. I had the valve cover off, had my 19mm socket on what I thought was the crank pulley bolt, and was attempting to rotate the engine. Unfortunately, I was on some other bolt (I think it was engine mount), my socket slipped off after I gave it too much oomph. I fell and my chin hit the fender putting a nice dent in it. I got it removed by PDR and it was expensive. I was so mad that I didn't even feel like doing the valve adjustment and still had to get everything buttoned back up.
Changing a rear hub assembly last week. Did this job tons of times. Had to get the axle loose from the dust cover to pull that off and picked up my hammer taped directly on the axle.🙄. Messed up the threads just enough to not be able to put the nut on. I knew better. Had to spend 100 dollars to get a m22 1.5 tap and die.
Great video and a recent DIY had me really discouraged since the I ran into issues on the 3 things I went to install. In the end I was successful, but these are things that looked easy and I ran into issues on each one. I was doubting why I DIY for a little bit but this video really hit home. Thanks!
I don’t think the tint removal was a mistake. It didn’t go the way you wanted, but I wouldn’t call it a mistake. I would say about 25% of the time things don’t go the way I expected them to go.
Ahaha U could have just use window cleaner to strip it off. Oh and yeah sh@t happens
Charles you have been an awesome inspiration throughout my time at uti and my continuing career at ford surrounded by grouchy people. (even though i hate fords) lol. Keep up the good work love your show -Andy
Pro-tip, when you make any mistake as a mechanic just take one of your fingers off with an acetylene torch as atonement for your sins. You'll be more careful next time.
lol j/k. I did a motor swap on my outback and had to pull all of it apart to swap the cam and crank timing sprockets because it was a different year donor motor and thus the computer wouldn't read. THEN I realized it was an EGR motor and I had to take a bunch of shit apart AGAIN to fabricate and install an EGR plug because my car was non-EGR. Wicked pissah…Fuckups are just good for a laugh, maybe withold your next beer as punishment? Make yourself buy a 30 of natty and pretend its good?
after market
Age + Sun + few defrost cycle and film is glued…. Stay away pulling it from the back one. One reason I never tint my back window, not worth it to pull if something g changes later on. But I get the point and feel it, sometime these things don't follow the stars 😉 👍
I throw wrenches and curse the sky when replacing light bulbs. Your words of encouragement are like the wind on stone.
