How long does this type of repair last for. I always thought when metal is rotted out like that you had to cut it out so it doesn't continue to rot out, even if it was sand blasted?

Have anybody experimented fiberglass insulation and mesh metal flaring around approximately, and then glue it together with resin to repair a panel?
It is because fiberglass insulation is made of recycle glass, so it is much cheaper and I can buy a big bag of it; so I want to make a lightweight garage door using fiberglass resin, fiberglass insulation, and a piece of lightweight net mesh 2 millimetre metal sheet.
All pressed down into a thin board with the weight of a strand board and a couple of cement bricks and wait for dry and cure.

Good stuff! I've patched lots of rusty cars up with fiberglass. The beer, fiberglass resin, and plastic filler buzz is the best!

Let's put in a band-aid over it that rust Will come back you didn't cure it neither you supposed to cure it before you put the primer on So the rust will not come back

    Never put filler over primer

It's obviously better to weld steel than using fiberglass, correct? Thank you again fir a great video!

We use to pop rivet a patch over top and pick it down low before filling with Bondo. It worked for a year or two or three, but it's a waste of time and material money if it's on anything good. Much better just to do it right and be done with it.
