Mmm I’d like to see how self driving cars would cope over here in Ireland get off the motorway and nearly every A and B roads are like a snake’s back and as for the Lexus steering wheel don’t think it’ll work over here especially in local seaside towns try visiting kinsale or bantry Bay Area in one of those and your frustration will probably wrench the wheel round from its yoke design
As someone who has actually driven a car before, I can say that this is a shitty design for a steering wheel. I commute, I sit in traffic, I go on road trips, and I don't necessarily want my hands in the exact same place the entire time. Sometimes I want to leave my hand(s) at the very top or the very bottom. You can give us steer by wire and still have a properly shaped steering wheel.
If it ain't broke don't fix it, wheels are round. They just run of of new ideas, same with styling…take the new BMW's 👎. Our own Austin Allegro has been derided ever since early models featured a quartic (slight corners) wheel back in the 70s, if it had been a trendy make it'll have been ok. 😏
Give me a freaking break… these manufacturers are going out of control lol.
