Comparing an aircraft yoke to a steering wheel is beyond stupid. A steering wheel is used over a huge number of degrees of motion.. a yoke, only 80 or so degrees each side, and most aircraft maneuvers use half that.
Was this designed by a pilot?
I'll keep my 2012. Nothing like that Lexus wood steering wheel.
Horrible idea.
The ergonomic factor alone is an issue.
To be able to reposition your hands for posture relief is VERY important.
A complete full circle/wheel allows full hard repositioning options.
Bloody technicians & designers were out to lunch on this one.

The major advantage of the Yoke design, is that it improves instrument cluster visibility. The upper portion of virtually every steering wheel must be adjusted to allow drivers to see the driver's instrument cluster. Only cars with central instrument clusters (that most drivers hate), don't have this problem. Automobiles have often incorporated aircraft design features, with mixed success. A few concept cars have even featured side-stick steering, like an F-16.
Some automobile controls have changed over the years, and drivers learned to adapt. Gearshifts for manual transmissions were often placed on the steering column, and the Model-T had a throttle and spark advance levers by the steering wheel, and the three foot pedals were clutch, reverse and brake. If you ride a motorcycle, you learn to activate the clutch with your left hand, and shift with your left foot. Vintage Triumph motorcycles had the shifter on the right, and the rear brake pedal on the left. Most Americans adapted to this arrangement.
