Hi Scotty! I have a 1998 4 runner that is in excellent condition, BUT, it was having a starting issue, I thought I was going to be buying a new battery for it soon, and I'm sure NO mechanical genius, so I put a new one in.. It happened again! SO, I delve a little deeper and change the starter relay…. Probably made the WRONG choice, because THIS FREAKED ME OUT! I try to start the car, lights, no crank, LIKE before, but THIS TIME it made a WHOOOSH BOOM SOUND and was RUNNING NOISILY AND ROUGH, and THEN A REALLY TIGHT WHINE SOUND came from it and I get to the Car Doc, who was closed, and turn it OFF, but IT'S STILL RUNNING, BUT NOT REGULAR RUNNING! I MEAN IT'S LIKE ITS TRYING TO START ITSELF OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND I HAVE THE KEYS IN MY HAND WITH THE HOOD UP! Got back in, try to start it , what MORE could go WRONG, right? It stopped that "cycling thing" it was doing and was running just as SMOOTH as it ALWAYS HAS. NOW WHAT THE HECK???!!
