My 68 Chrysler Newport is made with steel and iron and a little bit of foam for seats , weighs in at 3800 lbs .
A modern car is made with the least amount of metal possible mostly plastic and aluminum.yet still weighs just as much as my ,steel and twice the size car!

Probably could have cut the door skin with a utility knife. Door latch modules like this are an example of engineering meeting stupidity, where the goal of keeping the doors closed in a crash may actually contribute to loss of life immediately after the crash. Somebody didn't think that completely through, no doubt. Thanks for sharing, Pete.
