In this episode, Alex from QCCharge explains the services they offer for repair options that Tesla does not, such as repairing battery packs instead of replacing them. In addition, he walks us through some of the custom tools they use for repairing them and shows the inner workings of a Tesla electric motor. Furthermore, he explains how they rebuild Tesla motors and improvement with drain equipment to prevent premature failure.

How much does it cost to replace a Tesla battery vs repairing them? Can you rebuild electric car motors? Get the answers in this video!

Here’s a practical suggestion…… Don’t get an EV, can of worms which will cost you big time. 🧐🧐

I can get a car for $5-6000 dont think i will be repairing an engine.

from what year model are the engines fixed from TEsla model s?

Up to $20k to replace a whole battery pack. $5k to repair 1 of 16 modules (the other 15 modules are still old). Seals and drive motors that last only 40k miles. This is all IF you can find a repair shop. Like Moulder said…”I want to believe”…but the tech, support and infrastructure just isn’t there yet for the average person not living in CA. When my Toyota V6 finally dies at 300,000 miles (or more), I can replace it for about $5k and go another 300,000 miles. Yes I’m buying fuel and doing oil changes but electricity cost money too, EV’s have increased insurance rates and in my state, you are charged a higher registration fee every year for EV’s).

I was asked to take ASE test in 77, passes all 8 in 78, seen a lot. The 280Z and Cadillac Seville was the only two that used "Electric" fuel injection, completely different with a Bendix brand MAP sensor built into the ECM of the Cadillac. Tech brings its own new set of problems and some good, some bad. Working contract for GM, I have driven the EV-1 and Hydrogen fuel cell van. They used the EV-1 front drive with batteries and rear motors into an S10 pickup and Con-Ed used them on the East coast. The parallel hybrid truck was another with no starter on gas engine & electric reverse only. They made it to auctions and no one knew what they were. 5,000 hrs is engineer specs which is 150k miles. I can understand some who believe in climate change but but if India, China farts, the world smells it!
I am for hydrogen but 68% efficiency and no major failures or repairs then electronics have external heat sinks for a radiator, heater core, fans and recovery tank, but possible internal leakage. New cars didn't cost as much as a battery pack. Batteries are changing to "Sodium Ion" that cobalt, lithium resources are harder to get. Everything has an 18650 battery in it.
Best of luck from one tech to another!

I learned a lot here. Thank you!

Your knowledge & under standing of Ev battery vehicles Alex is the future, I hope you can teach others your skills because this a new trade to learn, all the best

electric isnt going to work, until they make a universal battery easy swapping method and stations to swap them. Like fueling and oil change shops, there needs also to be swap stations and mobile swapping trucks. just call in and set up a swap destination or facility. like uber eats or such. till then the electric voyage is going to sink.

Doing what producers claimed is undoable.
