How you determine the reliability of a one year old car? My sister leases a Chevrolet Traverse. Had to have three transmissions replaced before they lemon lawed it and gave her a replacement. That's how you determine it.
I don't understand initial quality ratings, stupid rating for a car after only 90 days of ownership.

The 92 Mazda DX protege was a great car. Better looking, bigger, and zippier than the 92 Corolla. It was affordable, could seat four passengers with dignity. I can see why someone wants to hold on to theirs like Scotty holds onto his 93 Celica.
An honest mechanic will tell you to buy a 1994 Toyota Celica
Check the transmission fluid level, mine was shifting hard, I checked the fluid level, it was inexplicably low, topped it off and it shifted like new again. Double check the process to read the T fluid in your car, it's not like checking engine oil.
